PVC Pipe Wrapping Tape for Pipe Protection and Sealing
SLAA No.160 PVC Pipe Wrap Tape is a flexible adhesive tape designed for industrial pipe wrapping, surface protection and temporary pipe-end sealing during storage. Made from soft PVC film with a rubber-based adhesive, it conforms to curved pipe surfaces and coating transition areas.
This PVC pipe wrapping tape provides resistance to moisture, abrasion, oils, acids and alkalis under suitable conditions. For coated steel pipes, it helps protect exposed pipe-end and coating cutback areas from moisture exposure and handling damage before welding or field joint coating preparation.
Tape Description
No.160 pipe wrapping tape combines a conformable PVC backing with a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. Its flexible construction allows close-fitting application around pipe surfaces, ends and coating-to-steel transitions.
This PVC protective tape for pipes can be used for temporary storage protection of steel pipes with factory-applied FBE, 3LPE and 3LPP external coatings, subject to compatibility checks and project requirements. When correctly applied, the wrapping layer helps limit moisture ingress around protected transition areas.
The tape has a nominal thickness of 0.15 mm and is available in widths from 75 mm to 150 mm. A typical 50% overlap creates a double-layer wrap across the covered area. Additional layers may be applied according to the project specification.
