How do you measure Shear adhesion of adhesive tape?

Shear adhesion

Force when double sided tape is sandwiched with two test panels and pulled from both ends until break.

How do you measure Elongation of adhesive tape?

Elongation

This is measured at the same time of measuring tensile strength. Percentage of elongation, when adhesive tape is to be pulled from both ends until break, is measured.

If the value is 50%, it means 100mm tape is able to elongate to 150mm.

How do you measure tensile strength of adhesive tape?

Tensile strength

Force when tape is pulled from both ends and breaks. As larger the value is, the higher the strength or the backing material.

Application

Super Duct Tape is suitable for heavy goods packaging for its strength. Moreover, the sealing property to corrugated paper is excellent by the thick layer of adhesive.

Feature

Large adhesion and Strong Bond;

Easy unwind and Hand Tear;

Easy adhered to a variety of surfaces.

Super strong duct tape applied to a rough, irregular surface keep Strong bond performance.

Good adhesion and tensile strength at low temperature.

Super strong duct tape used very low temperatures keep initial tack performance.

Good chemical resistance and solvent resistance;

Good moisture resistance and waterproof backing;

How do you measure holding power of adhesive tape?

Holding power

Resistant force of the adhesive tape, which is applied to stainless plate with static load (Typically 1kg) attached to the length direction.

Distance (mm) of displacement after 24 hours or time (min) elapsed until the tape drops from the stainless plate.

How do you measure Tack of adhesive tape?

Force that is needed to adhere to adherend by light force. The measurement is done by setting adhesive tape with the adhesive face upward to the inclined plate with the angle of 30˚(or 15˚), and measure the maximum size of SUS ball, which stops completely within the adhesive face. This is the effective method to find initial adhesion or adhesion at low temperatures.

What is Peel adhesion Test?

Force that is generated by peeling off the adhesive tape from stainless plate to the angle of 180˚(or 90˚). It is the most common property to make a selection of tape. The value of adhesion varies by temperature, adherend (material the tape to be applied to), applying condition.
